LA Lakers Trade Rumors, News 2014: Team Needs Kobe Bryant and Steven Nash Healthy

The Los Angeles Lakers have dropped in the NBA Watchability Rankings to no. 25, as they are looking to be one of the worst teams in the NBA if Kobe Bryant can't manage to carry his teammates during the season.

Bryant missed much of last year's season due to his injuries and this year is regarded as his penultimate season. With no other identity other than Byrant, it is speculated that the Lakers won't be faring well in this year's season.

The team has been bolstering their roster and a number of power forwards have been included. Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis were bought off from free agency and Julius Randle was acquired from draft seventh overall. Jeremy Lin has also joined the Lakers ranks, traded in from the Houston Rockets. Aside from new players, Bryon Scott has also been chosen to be the new coach.

Even with the number of young players in their fold, the fate of the team in the playoffs still lies in the hands of Bryant and fellow veteran Steve Nash. Both players are already well into their 30s and if they want to make something happen for the team, they will have to stay in tip top shape and be healthy throughout the year.

Overall, the Lakers are looking into a good playoffs season with their new roster and new coach, but at the same time they are looking to make the best out of Bryant's final years as a professional player.

On the other hand, fans may not want to miss this year since Bryant is only 592 points away from ranking third in the NBA record books, just behind Michael Jordan. If Bryant stays healthy during this season, third place is well within his grasp.
