Former FlyLeaf Singer Lacey Sturm Releases New Single 'Impossible'
Former FlyLeaf front-woman Lacey Sturm released her first solo single on Nov. 1 entitled "Impossible," from her upcoming debut solo album Life Screams, much to the delight of eager fans. The single's debut on SirusXM Octane received such a dramatic response that iTunes asked Sturm to release the single on its platform two days early.
After touring for 10 years with the band she co-founded in her garage, Sturm made the shocking announcement that she would be leaving Flyleaf. Having married, and given birth to her first child, the artist feared that her demanding tour schedule might interfere with family life.
Sturm's departure from Flyleaf was met with mixed reaction. The band added a new lead singer, Kristen May, who was well received by many, but was admittedly very different from Sturm. Many have been critical of the band for its change of sound and style, some even going as far as abandoning their support for the group since the switch.
Since her departure from FlyLeaf, Sturm has re-emerged as a solo artist and her new single "Impossible" is capturing the attention of fans who have tracked her solo venture and anxiously awaited her new music.
One YouTube subscriber, Casey Allena, said, "I've waited for this for a year! I can't stop listening to it!"
Adalyn Kelsing echoed, "So powerful, it gave me chills!"
YouTube user THGhost2013 said, "I have not listened to anything put out by Flyleaf since Lacey left since they're nothing without her." The passionate fan added that hearing Sturms voice again on her new single was "fantastic."
