Lady Gaga Addresses Madonna's Diss

Following Madonna's perceived dig at Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," Gaga has dismissed the diss.

While the singer did not directly mention Madonna, Gaga took a moment to comment on her critics in New Zealand Thursday during one leg of her world tour.

"It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make a mockery of their work," stated the 26-year-old singer ahead of performing her song "Hair."

Madonna had performed a mash-up of of Gaga's song along with her own song "Express Yourself," sparking rumors that the 53-year-old was demonstrating her superiority over Gaga.

"And that doesn't make me feel good at all," Gaga continued on stage. "That just makes me feel like I'm not being a good human being … I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music. Because that's really all I care about, is the music."

Gaga is a staunch spokesperson for anti-bullying campaigns and with over 25 million followers on Twitter, she remains one of today's most popular artists.

In conclusion, Gaga noted the difference between now and 25 years ago, presumably noting the time where Madonna's musical career had peaked.

"Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes 'Born This Way' so relevant for me," said the singer during the concert. "We're socially in a different place and it's OK, we don't have to all slice and hate each other anymore."

Lady Gaga's concert performances have made several headlines this week. Also while performing in New Zealand, the New York City native was struck in the head by a pole and suffered a concussion on Sunday.

Despite the injury, Gaga completed the entire show, completing another 16 songs.

"I want to apologize," said Gaga speaking to the audience. "I hit my head and I think I may have a concussion but don't you worry I will finish this show."

Makeup artist for the singer Tara Savelo comforted fans with a message on Twitter, "Gaga has a concussion but she is going to be okay… can't believe she finished the show."

Similarly, pop star Justin Bieber suffered a concussion last week during a performance in Paris.
