Lady Gaga Grammys 2012: Why Did Gaga Skip the Red Carpet?
The web is abuzz with several theories as to why pop singing icon Lady Gaga chose to skip the 2012 Grammy Awards red carpet walk, especially because in the past she has used the carpet to her full advantage.
At the Grammy Awards Sunday, Gaga skipped the red carpet entirely and headed straight for the backstage area at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
On the inquiry website YabYab, some users stipulated that Gaga skipped the red carpet because she has run out of fresh ideas.

However, judging by her daring dominatrix themed outfit at the Grammys, which included head-to-toe fishnet, fake leather and a golden-orbed scepter, this suspicion is less than likely true.
One commenter provided the frank and simple answer: "because she's a diva."
Others concluded that Gaga is trying to keep the suspense levels high for her upcoming "Born This Way Ball" concert tour, which will make 110 stops worldwide beginning in Southeast Asia on April 27.
Still others, including The Huffington Post, agree that Gaga's low-key demeanor at the show was a silent homage to pop icon Whitney Houston, who was found dead at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Aside from Gaga's shared smooch with Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles, the singer's usually flamboyant air was toned down at the show, at least in comparison to previous years.
At the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Gaga received the "Video of the Year" award for her music video "Bad Romance" while wearing a dress made completely out of raw meat.
At the 2011 Grammys, Gaga lay inside a giant green egg and was carried down the red carpet by five shirtless men, supporting the egg with the help of a giant wooden beam.
Regardless, Gaga's quiet appearance is especially surprising as she was nominated for several awards, including Album of the Year. At the end of the night, Adele walked away with the Album of the Year award.
Some are arguing that pop singer Nicki Minaj upstaged Gaga by walking the red carpet in a Little Red Riding Hood ensemble and escorted by a Pope look-alike.
Regardless of the reason why Gaga chose to skip the red carpet, the mystery alone has kept her in today's headlines.
