Lady Gaga's Backstage Demands: 'Mannequin With Pink Public Hair' and 'Glam Rock' Posters
Lady Gaga's backstage demands range from the relatively normal to the luxurious and bizarre. The pop star's lavish requirements were detailed in her contract rider, and revealed because of a lawsuit filed by her former personal assistant, Jennifer O'Neill.
Lady Gaga, while backstage, demands that "a mannequin with puffy pink pubic hair" be in her presence when she is her room. The strange requests don't end there, though, as the "Poker Face" singer needs a room furnished in "glam rock" style "with silver [satins] draped over the walls," "old rock posters from her favorite artists like David Bowie, Queen, Elton John and [Billie] Holiday," with white leather couches and fresh roses, according to Celebuzz.com.
The star also requires many health-conscious foods like strawberry jam, peanut butter with flax seed, bran flakes, Special K cereal "with no berries or raisins," organic ginger and lemon grass tea, throat coat, and honey, which were pointed out to be "very important."
Grain tortillas, homemade guacamole, hummus, solid white tuna in water, vegetables, and Activia yogurt round out her list of food demands. Lady Gaga also indulges in alcoholic drinks, however, filling her rider with red and white wine, Jameson whiskey, Coke Zero, cold and room temperature water, Dunkin Donuts coffee, Gatorade, and Fuze fruit drinks.
Although Gaga's tour rider isn't the most unusual ever- rock band Slayer once requested "50,000 live bees" and "100 snow-white goats for slaughter," according to The Inquisitr- the reason it was revealed is different than a simple leak. During a 6-hour deposition in court, the documents were reviewed during the lawsuit of former personal assistant Jennifer O'Neill.
The former personal assistant brought charges against the pop diva, stating that Gaga failed to compensate O'Neill for all of her hard work. In the 2011 suit, O'Neill states that she worked over 7,000 hours of overtime without being paid. She is suing Gaga for $393,000 plus damages, according to The New York Post.
"She's just- she thinks she's just like the queen of the universe," Gaga ranted of O'Neill. "And, you know what, she didn't want to be a slave to one, because in my work and what I do, I'm the queen of the universe every day."
The star also claimed that none of her employees received overtime.
