Lakewood Church Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Spanish-Speaking Ministry With Unifying Worship Event
The unity between Spanish and Portuguese language worshippers was seen at Lakewood Church in Texas on Sunday, as renowned Brazilian gospel singer, Thalles Roberto, helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lakewood's Spanish-speaking ministry.
Pastor Thalles declared the freedom the Holy Spirit brings as she sung before thousands of worshippers at the celebration, which gathered with the theme, "Legacy – The Importance of Honoring the Faith and Legacy From Our Parents."
"Put your hand on your heart and feel the presence of God changing your heart, burning with the fire of the Spirit. This is what He is doing today. God is changing your heart to a new heart. A heart on fire by the presence of the Holy Spirit of God," preached Thalles Roberto inbetween his set.
He proclaimed: "(…) Say to your brother [beside you]: 'You are free to dance.' But not religiously [with religiosity]. Say to him, 'Take your religion and put it on his/her seat. You don't need it now. God doesn't want your religion. He wants your heart full of His presence. Be free in the presence of the Holy Spirit."
Thalles' performance was arranged through a connection between the leader of the Spanish-speaking ministry, Danilo Montero, and Brazilian entrepreneur, Thiago Holanda. Montero is one of the leading pioneers of the renovation of Christian music in Latino America, whereas Holanda is one of the managers of Christian website Crente Urbano.
Thalles was also a member of famous Brazilian pop group, Jota Quest, before becoming a gospel singer. His music blends pop, rock, soul and gospel influences. He is a Platinum-selling musician in the country and has released several successful albums in his Christian music career.
Worshippers commended Thalles on leading a beautiful event of celebration and worship, with many taking to social media networks to comment on the gathering.
"The service today was amazing!! I was tremendously blessed!!" wrote Carito Vera Moraga, on the Lakewood Spanish-speaking Ministry's Facebook.
"God bless Thalles Roberto and Thanks Servant for your professionalism, dedication, humility and above all for your love for the Lord. It was a blessing to be here this day in Lakewood!!! Glory and Honor to who is Worthy, our Savior Jesus," George Quintanilla testified.
