Lala, Carmelo Anthony Reveal How They Sustain Marriage

Lala Anthony, media personality, mother and wife to New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony, is revealing why she and her husband have been going strong for years.

The Anthonys are gracing the February issue of EBONY magazine where they are revealing why they love one another. Carmelo, 29, spoke about the importance of being able to trust his wife at a time when he was unsure who he could turn to.

"There were people coming in and out of my life, and I didn't really know whom to trust. She was one of the people who stood by my side through thick and thick," Carmelo told EBONY. "Even to this day, she's always right there."

LaLa, 34, opened up to the magazine about how the two entertainers who have been married close to four years came together.

"We knew no matter what, we wanted each other," she told EBONY. "We needed [to be] in each other's life, and that's what's been able to sustain this relationship all those years."

Last year Lala took to the talk show Bethenny where she opened up to host Bethenny Frankel about why she was not worried that her husband was being unfaithful to her.

"I'm just very secure in myself. I can't worry about what's happening on the road," Lala told Frankel. "I know our relationship. I know we have a great relationship. He's my best friend and that's what I put my energy on."

Lala revealed why focusing on infidelity can drive a woman crazy.

"If we think too much about what's going on when we are not there and checking phones and cracking email codes, that will drive a woman crazy," she said. "You have to be secure in yourself and hope that's the best."

In 2012 the wife, mother, media personality and actress also opened up about balancing her family and business endeavors by putting God at the beginning of it all.

"The balancing for me is just about prioritizing and I know that my family and God come first before anything else and everything kind of falls into place after that. As long as I have those things in order first everything else will fall into place and I really believe that," Anthony said on the faith-based radio station WVOX 1190 AM. "Women have been balancing for years between work, being a mom and doing it all...you have women with six or seven kids and have a full time job. I'm no different than the women before me who've been doing the same thing."
