Lamar Odom Arrested for DUI: NBA Player Ignored Police, Failed Sobriety Test

Lamar Odom Drug Rumors Confirmed by DUI Arrest?

Lamar Odom was arrested Friday morning at 3:54 a.m. under the suspicion of driving a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to reports. The NBA player and husband of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has been the subject of rampant drug and divorce rumors, and now this incident seems to be evidence of his life problems.

Lamar Odom's arrest came while he was on the 101 Freeway in San Fernando Valley, Calif. Friday. His white Mercedes SUV was driving in a "serpentine manner" and too slowly at 50 mph, according to the police report. Cops attempted to pull him over, but the NBA free agent didn't respond to officers until three exits later, when he finally exited.

Odom's "objective signs of intoxication" prevented him from passing any of the field sobriety tests, and he was arrested and booked into a Van Nuys jail at 5:01 a.m. Furthermore, he refused to take any chemical tests to check his blood for drugs or alcohol.

The unfortunate incident correlates with reports pointing to Odom's drug use: unconfirmed accounts claimed that the basketball player was allegedly addicted to Oxycontin and the sleeping pill Ambien for two years and also that he attended rehab. Previous rumors claimed he had also used crack cocaine, but those were proven to be false soon afterwards.

"[Lamar] absolutely believes Khloe's family has been leaking stories to the tabloid press about his drug use, and his trip to rehab last year," one family insider told Radar. "Khloe has been very private about Lamar's drug addiction as she had done for the past year."

Odom previously revealed on reality TV that his father is a heroin addict and struggled with drug rumors in 2001, but eventually overcame them.

Bail is set at $15,000 for Odom, but it is not yet known if he has been released.
