Lance Armstrong Yellow Jerseys Photo Taunts Critics: Is He 'Delusional'? (PHOTO)
Lance Armstrong appears unfazed after being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles last month.
The athlete posted a photo of himself amidst his seven framed Tour de France Jerseys on Twitter, with the caption: "Back in Austin and just layin' around."
He was stripped of his seven titles following a U.S. Anti-doping Agency (USADA) investigation that revealed that he had used performance-enhancing drugs during his record-breaking Tour de France run. But Armstrong apparently didn't see that it was fit to take his jerseys down. In the picture, each framed jersey is given its own spotlight. His number is framed below in each and with all seven; they take up the entire length of the wall.
While Armstrong still has some supporters, who believe that the athletes was wrong stripped of his titles, others suggested that he was "delusional."
"A lot of people of worthless art on their walls!" one user chimed in on the Daily Mail blog.
"The man is a liar and a disgusting liar at that. Everything he owns, including every piece of furniture he 'just lays around on', was acquired by deception and the entirety of his medal haul and his framed jerseys are worth less than nothing," a second user, Mike, noted. "I note there are no friends in the pic he posted. What a sad man lounging there admiring his own failure."
His supporters, however, have argued that little evidence has been provided to prove that Armstrong was using any sort of enhancing substance. In addition, other users suggested that competition drugs are far more common that others are aware of.
"Honestly, the funniest part about this is that the only people who care about this are from the USA Working for a French company I have conversed at length with the French for 15+ years about cycling and those in the know in Europe understand that ALL bicyclists at this level who expect to compete are doping," a third user intoned.
