Laura Prepon Dating Tom Cruise? Rep Denies Scientologists Are Couple
Is Laura Prepon dating Tom Cruise? The "That '70s Show" star was pictured having dinner with Cruise in Los Angeles earlier this week, sparking rumors that she was the latest lady to win Cruise's heart.
"They see each other at some functions, but they are not dating," an insider told Us Weekly. "He will date again and has been talking with women."
One thing in Prepon's favor should the two decide to date is that she is also a member of the Church of Scientology, the same religious organization Cruise belongs to. It is of vital importance to Cruise that he date and eventually marry a woman who is also a Scientologist.

He and ex-wife Katie Holmes divorced last year after allegedly having discrepancies about raising daughter Suri in the organization. During a recent deposition in a case brought by Cruise against a tabloid claiming he had abandoned Suri, Cruise admitted that Scientology may have proven to be the breaking point in his relationship with Holmes, who wanted Suri kept out of the Church of Scientology.
"That was one of the assertions, yes," Cruise told lawyer Elizabeth McNamara during the session. "Like with any relationship, there are many different levels to it. You know I, I find it very offensive. There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion."
According to reports, the Church has often played a significant role in Cruise's relationships, setting him up with women it deems appropriate. He has not dated since his divorce from Holmes but instead has thrown himself into his work, often spending months abroad on film sets.
"He's actually a lot more relaxed and more extroverted," an insider previously told Us Weekly of Cruise. "Tom still sees Suri and speaks to her on the phone."
Prepon previously dated another actor, Christopher Masterson, the brother of her co-star Danny Masterson, for seven years before separating in 2007.
