Laura Story, Casting Crowns Winners at Billboard 2012 Music Awards
Billboard 2012 Music Awards were handed over to the winners on evening of May 20, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Christian music was celebrated in the three categories Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album, and Top Christian Song.
Top Christian Artist nominees were Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Skillet, Laura Story and Chris Tomlin. Nominees in the Top Christian Album category were Casting Crowns' Come to the well, Casting Crowns' Until the whole world hears, Skillet's Awake, Laura Story's Blessings and Wow Hits 2012 by Various Artists.
Casting Crowns took home two awards for both Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Album with their successful Come to the Well record.
Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall has said, "What we do is inspired by our faith in Jesus, our home churches and the incredible people we get to interact with on the road. We feel honored that our music would be recognized in this way."
Nominees in the category for Top Christian Song were Casting Crowns' "Glorious day", Jamie Grace's "Hold me" featuring tobyMac, Mandisa's "Stronger", Laura Story's "Blessings" and Matthew West's "Strong enough." Laura Story received the award for her song "Blessings."
