Lauren Conrad Collection: Launches Eco-Friendly Line With BlueAvocado
Lauren Conrad of MTV's "The Hills" is launching a new, eco-friendly product line with BlueAvocado. The entrepreneur has stated that the venture "represents a synergy of things I love to do-design great products, enable women to realize their dreams, and inspire thoughtful action."
She added, "Once you realize the responsibility we have to improve our environment in our lifetime, you feel compelled to act with urgency. BlueAvocado provides a canvas for me to invite change."
The new line will consist of cosmetic, home and travel products.
Conrad is the author of four books and creator of three clothing lines; she also served as the model for Avon's "mark" campaign for three years. Conrad became known for her role on MTV's semi-reality series "Laguna Beach," which spun off the more popular series "The Hills" which focused exclusively on Conrad and a few close friends.
BlueAvocado states that it has "created a selection of inspired products designed to reduce waste throughout your day. Each is manufactured responsibly, and features an impact label to help you map your 'green journey.'"
The line includes reusable shopping bags, storage containers and other home goods. Now Conrad has partnered with the company, which says that her line "will include stylish prints and new lifestyle products including reusable lunch, shopping, hydration, home storage, travel and cosmetic accessories."
The company adds, "Lauren's initiatives will support BlueAvocado's mission to keep garbage out of our oceans, preserve natural resources, and empower women to realize their potential to make a big difference."
Conrad has been a champion and promoter of women's empowerment, spreading her message through work with Avon and on her website. In February 2010, Conrad was one of the leading forces behind Avon's "Have a Heart" campaign to help educate young women about the cycle of domestic violence. She was also the face of "m.powerment by mark" which brought attention to violence among women 16-24.
BlueAvocado's new line with Conrad will debut in the spring of 2012.
