'Law & Order: SVU' Season 15 Spoilers: Life-Changing Decisions in Season Finale (TRAILER VIDEO)
This week another season of "Law & Order: SVU" comes to a close and there are life-altering events planned for the characters. One detective's job is at risk, as is his freedom and future, while another member of the Special Victims Unit may finally get to realize her dream.
During last week's episode, Detective Amaro lost his temper with a suspected pedophile who was not convicted of any wrongdoing. When Amaro found the suspect photographing children at a playground, he tried to get him to stop doing so but when that was unsuccessful, a physical altercation ensued. Amaro was finally pulled off the suspect and arrested. This week, he faces charges of attempted murder and relies on an old friend and mentor for help.
John Munch, played by Richard Belzer, returns for a special episode. He tries to help Amaro come to grips with losing his wife and primary custody of his daughter. Amaro is in a downward spiral and could lose his badge and be imprisoned for his attack on the acquitted suspect. These two men have a special relationship, and Munch is the only one that is able to get through to Amaro, so it's only natural that he returns to help in a moment of crisis.

Meanwhile, another SVU officer may finally get the opportunity to be a mother and fulfill one of her life dreams. For several months now, Sgt. Benson has been involved in the life of Baby John Doe, a child that was found and has been moved from foster home to foster home. Benson has taken a very personal interest in the baby boy and stayed involved in his case. In this new episode, a judge declares that she is unhappy with how frequently the baby has been moved from home to home.
In one scene, Benson is rocking the baby boy and seems perfectly content. Producers have hinted that after the season Benson has had, it might be time for her to have a bit of happiness.
The season finale of "Law & Order: SVU" airs Wednesday on NBC.
