'Law & Order: SVU' Season 19 Episode 5 Spoilers: Carisi Draws Flak from the Media
Carisi (Peter Scanavino) will lose his patience with a pushy reporter in the next episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
In the episode titled "Complicated," the synopsis reveals that the SVU agent will find himself in hot water after an encounter with a newspaper reporter. The squad is set to handle a kidnapping case. Ten years after she disappeared, a woman is found wandering Central Park alone. The media will make a ruckus about the discovery, and Carisi will make the mistake of speaking with one of them.
The promo shows a disturbed young woman back with her family after a decade. Instead of a tearful reunion, the SVU will sadly note that her parents do not seem happy to see their kid. In the clip, the girl's mother tells Olivia that they should never have found her. It looks like there is more to the kidnapping case than what the evidence suggests.

In the last episode, the team handled a cyberbullying case. The victim was a popular teen who got pranked after a night of smoking weed. Two of her schoolmates wrote degrading things on her body and posted it on social media. One of them even raped her. After agreeing to a plea deal, the rapist admitted his crime. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) helped the girl realize that she still had a future in front of her and that she should not let the experience bring her down.
Surprisingly, Noah's (Jack Nawada-Braunwart) grandmother, Sheila (Brooke Shields) did not appear in the episode. But, Benson did tell Rollins (Kelli Giddish) about the woman. Later on, she received the news that the court was questioning her capability as a parent to Noah. In a recent interview, Shields said that her character has no wish to take Noah away from the lieutenant.
"But I think what fans will understand is that both of these [women] actually have a valid argument, and what does that mean? [Is it] about winning? Is it about finding the healthiest compromise? I'm not there to replace [Olivia]. I'm not there to undermine or stamp her out, so I'm not an adversary in that way," the actress said.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" season 19 airs Wednesdays, at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
