Lea Michele Cory Monteith Death, Actress Attends Jamie-Lynn Sigler's Baby Shower
Lea Michele is still grieving the sudden death of boyfriend Cory Monteith, but the actress was spotted at a happier Hollywood affair over the weekend.
The "Glee" star attended her friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler's baby shower on Saturday, marking her first public appearance since Monteith's death on July 13.
Photographed alongside another Hollywood starlet, JoAnna Garcia, Michele donned a cheery white dress and high heels as she walked to the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills for the baby celebration, according to E! News.
The appearance arrives just days after the actress broke her silence on Monteith's death, posting to Twitter: "Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will be forever in my heart."
As for the baby shower, Sigler, 31, is expecting her first child with fiancé Cutter Dykstra. At the time that the "Sopranos" actress first announced her pregnancy, Michele was among the first to offer congratulations.
"So excited for my dear friends @JamieLSigler and @cutterdykstra…" wrote the actress. "There (sic) having a baby! Such amazing news : )"
Meanwhile, Monteith's death rocked the entertainment industry. The actor was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada, and an autopsy revealed that the 31-year-old died from a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol.
During an interview given just one month ahead of Monteith's death, Michele gushed about her "Glee" co-star and boyfriend while speaking to Marie Claire Mexico.
"It's more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life," the actress explained of her onscreen and off-screen boyfriend.
"But he is the best person I know, he had made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker," Michele added.
Furthermore, Monteith reportedly escorted Michele to the photo shoot for the magazine, according to E! News.
"Cory showed up in great spirits and was very nice to everybody there; he even took pictures with whoever asked for it," said Marie Claire Mexico's editor-in-chief Ariadne Grant. "He just asked for a Coke and stayed there watching the shooting until it was done."
