Lea Michele Suffering Anxiety Attacks After Cory Monteith Death? 'Actress Getting Worse'
Lea Michele is reportedly suffering from anxiety attacks over the recent loss of her boyfriend and "Glee" co-star, Cory Monteith.
The 26-year-old actress, who plays Rachel Berry on the musical TV series, was understandably left shattered after learning that Monteith, whom she began dating in early 2012, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13. She is reportedly still coming to terms with his passing.
"Lea is getting worse–the shock is wearing off now and the reality is setting in," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She's been having horrible anxiety attacks where she feels like she can't breathe."
Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the hit TV series, reportedly died of a heroin overdose after losing his long battle with addiction. Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the musical TV series, is believed to have been a strong source of support for the actor.
"The nighttime is when it's really difficult. Everyone's [made up] their schedules so there's always someone there with her. It's been like a horror movie, watching Lea crumble," another source said.
"She's always been so positive and happy, always smiling. Now her face is totally swollen from crying," the source added. "She wavers between sitting down and writing a eulogy to sing at his memorial to total denial."
Michele is expected to return to "Glee" in coming weeks as it prepares to begin airing its fifth season. However friends are concerned for her emotional well being.
"Lea pushes herself so hard and expects so much from herself and she doesn't want to let down anyone at Glee because she knows everyone is counting on her to come back," another source revealed.
"It's hard to imagine how she's going to physically get through her work days. She can barely stop crying and it's only getting worse," the source added.
