Leah Remini, Scientology Drama: Actress Files Missing Persons Report for David Miscavige's Wife
Leah Remini filed a missing persons report with the Los Angeles Police Department for Shelly Miscavige, the wife of the Church of Scientology's leader David Miscavige.
"Our missing persons unit informed us that Leah Remini did file a missing person report on a Shelly Miscavige," a spokesperson for the LAPD said in a statement. "That is all we are going to say at this time."
According to reports, Remini's friends have separated from her since she left the Church last month. Actress Kirstie Alley appeared to have severed her ties with Remini, whom she had been friends with for years and had even introduced to Scientology.

Remini's sister has been very vocal about Leah's decision to leave the tradition, but this is one of the first times she herself has spoken about her decision. She gives full credit to her family for standing by her during this time and making the decision to leave the Church together, which was not easy.
"We stand united, my family and I, and I think that says a lot about who we are and what we're about," Leah said in a statement. "I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support," she said in a statement earlier this month.
A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology issued a statement to The Christian Post regarding Remini's departure, stating, "The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no further comment."
However, on the claims of "interrogations" and "thought modification" by The New York Post's source, the Church of Scientology told The Christian Post: "The allegations of 'interrogations' and 'thought modification' are absurd and pure nonsense, as are all the statements made about the Church's leader, Mr. David Miscavige.
"Under the 25-year leadership of Mr. Miscavige, following in the footsteps of our Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, the Church is enjoying tremendous expansion as shown in our new Churches opening on six continents and the many new parishioners joining their congregations," they added.
