Leah Remini: 'Sharon Osbourne Had Me Fired'
Leah Remini may have been the "loud" one on CBS' daytime show "The Talk," but it appears as though Sharon Osbourne's words were louder and led to Remini's dismissal.
Remini started with the original cast of the show, which included Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Holly Robinson Peete. Yet for the second season, Remini and Peete were noticeably absent and no one was talking about their dismissal.
Yesterday Remini took to Twitter to explain why she and Peete had been let go before the second season.
"Sharon thought me and Holly were 'ghetto' (her words), we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves. Sharon made it happen," she wrote.
While Osbourne has not confirmed or denied Remini's words, she has not hidden her feelings toward Remini. In an interview with Howard Stern, Osbourne remarked that "some people don't really know who they are, and you have to know who you are when you're in something like this."
When Stern asked where Remini and Peete were, Osbourne was quick to quip, "Why? Should we call them to discuss?"
Fans have rallied around Remini. On her Facebook page, several have written messages of support.
"Just a note, you were the best on 'the talk'" wrote Djray Alexander. Others have stated that they will not be watching "The Talk" anymore.
In response, Remini has thanked viewers for the support.
"You tweeted your booties off. You made videos. You made shirts. You contacted other celebrities to help you. You did radio shows. You stayed up all hours of the night petitioning to keep Holly and me on 'The Talk.' I have never felt so much love from a group of people I have not personally met," she wrote on Facebook.
Remini has also revealed via Twitter that she is filming the pilot for a new series on ABC. She has not, however, been able to reveal anything else about the show, but fans are eagerly awaiting her return to TV.
