LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian Reality Show: Will it Ruin Their Marriage?
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are reportedly pitching their very own reality TV series and while fans have expressed interest, critics believe that a potential show could ruin their marriage.
The controversial couple, who has been married for over one year, are infamous for their 2009 affair scandal. While they were both famous prior to cheating, much of their current publicity revolves around their affair and the seemingly neverending drama that continues to surround it.
Rimes, 30, and Cibrian, 41, are "shopping a docu-series about their life together," a source allegedly told GossipCop. The troubled singer and the father of two are "personally going into 'pitch meetings' in an effort to sell it."
The news comes months after it was claimed the couple's alleged marital woes reportedly pushed Rimes into rehab to deal with ongoing "stress" in August. Some critics fear that a reality TV show will only harm their allegedly strained marriage.
"LeAnn is beyond stressed about the cracks in her relationship with Eddie and she has been really scared that he is cheating on her," a source previously told RadarOnline.com.
"LeAnn called a friend of hers a few weeks ago sobbing hysterically about Eddie going out. She was home for the weekend and he didn't stay in with her and she was crying saying that she was so worried about what he was doing when he wasn't with her," the source went on.
Many Hollywood marriages have ended in divorce due to problems stemming from the often hidden downsides of reality TV. These marriages include that of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown; Britney Spears and Kevin Federline; Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada; Deion and Pilar Sanders; various "Real Housewives" stars Nene Leakes, Tamra Barney, Vicki Gunvalson and more.
Critics flocked to social networking site Twitter, where some expressed concerns about the effect that a reality TV show could have on Rimes' marriage to Cibrian.
"Eddie and Leann reality show? I smell a divorce in 3..2.." Penny tweeted.
"Leann Rimes is getting her own show. Are these two unapologetic adulterers serious? Leann this won't end well," Ted tweeted.
"This is disgusting. I hope Leann and Eddie are prepared for the worst LOL #dumb," CC tweeted.
