LeAnn Rimes Joining 'Real Housewives'? Producers 'Pursuing' Singer
The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" could potentially become one of the most dramatic reality TV shows on the Bravo TV network if LeAnn Rimes agrees take up an offer to join the show, which was allegedly made by the show's producers.
Bravo TV producers have reportedly been trying to convince Rimes to join her longtime enemy, Brandi Glanville, as a cast member on the show. However, the troubled country singer has yet to accept the offer. Rimes infamously had an extramarital affair with Glanville's ex-husband Eddie Cibrian while they were married to other people and she eventually went on to marry the actor.
"Producers have approached LeAnn multiple times about joining the cast and have been pursuing her even harder in recent weeks. Viewers are fascinated by Brandi, how she's dealt with her marriage being broken up by LeAnn, and the pain that continues to cause her and her family," a source allegedly told RadarOnline.com.
"Executives at Bravo have told LeAnn that appearing on the show would be a great opportunity for her to get her side of the story out and no longer be seen in a negative light," the insider continued. "However, she has continued to shut the offers down, claiming she doesn't want the added drama in her life, that she has a flourishing music career, and that she just doesn't need to do a reality television show."
The reports follow recent claims suggesting Rimes is an emotional wreck over Glanville's controversial new book entitled "Drinking and Tweeting: And Other Brandi Blunders."
In the book Glanville, who shares two sons with Cibrian, opens up about witnessing Rimes, 30, attempt to seduce her ex-husband shortly before news of their affair came to light. She also reflects on how she discovered his other affairs and how she dealt with them.
"This is bringing out LeAnn's nagging fears about Eddie that one woman isn't enough. Does it bother her? Of course, no woman would want to read these things about her husband," a source said.
Rimes, who checked into rehab in 2012, has received public backlash ever since she admitted to her 2009 affair with Cibrian and subsequently her singing career has been affected.
"Everyone around LeAnn can see how much she struggles. She has body issues and worries Eddie [Cibrian] will cheat," a source reportedly told Life & Style magazine. "Friends and family are constantly worried she's going to fall apart again if she doesn't get help."
