Lebron James Considering a Football Career?

Lebron James may be looking for another job, as it appears this NBA season will be a wash. The NBA star took to Twitter to see if a football career was plausible.

James may be looking for a change in sports – by suiting up in pads and a helmet.
He tweeted to ESPN analyst John Clayton asking, “When is the deadline for a team to sign a free agent?”

Lebron James, who may seriously be weighing his options, showed up unannounced last Thursday to scrimmage and practice with his high school football team. His alma mater, St.Vincent-St. Mary High in Akron, Ohio happens to be undefeated and No. 3 in the state.

James was a star football player in high school and he still had the skills to be there, according to players on the field.

Kevin Besser, the school’s quarterback told Fox8.com, “He caught everything, he didn’t drop a pass. I probably threw six or seven passes his way and [he] went up and got everything.”

Upon finishing his football practice, James tweeted, “Just got done practicing with the St. V Varsity football team, full pads and all…Felt great being back on the field. Should I?”

Yahoo sports writer Chris Chase thinks James is at a dead end with all this football talk.

Chase said, “Let’s make this real easy. First off, it’s not happening…Lebron would never jeopardize his NBA career by doing something as dangerous as playing football. Second even if he did, Lebron wouldn’t be any good on the field.”

He explained that James could be a great tight end because of his athleticism, but he would have to devote himself fully to football and forget basketball.

James is currently the face of the NBA and is the biggest superstar since Michael Jordan.

His followers on Twitter were divided over his question.
