LeBron James Injures Ankle on First Day of Practice With Dwayne Wade

The highly anticipated reunion of close friends Dwyane Wade and Lebron James was off to a bad start. During their practice last Wednesday night, James unfortunately turned his left ankle and got badly injured.

Fans of the two players and the Cleveland Cavaliers were excited with the announcement that Wade had signed with the team recently and was setting his sights on bagging another championship for the Cavs. Back when the two were still with the Miami Heat, they were able to win two NBA titles back-to-back. However, what was supposed to be an exciting first day of practice with James turned out to be a disaster when the latter suffered from an ankle injury.

According to reports, James was not able to attend their practice on Thursday due to the injury he had during their first practice on Wednesday night. A spokesman from the Cavaliers revealed that James had already undergone X-rays but all results turned out negative. The three-time NBA Finals MVP has since then been listed as day-to-day.

Prior to the injury, James said in an interview early Wednesday that he was excited to play again with his friend Wade, who had been his teammate in Miami for four seasons. After winning back-to-back NBA titles, the two temporarily parted ways until Wade finally signed with the Cavs. Wade had reportedly rejected several offers from other teams so that he could enter into a $2.3-million deal with their team.

Wade was also absent during their Thursday practice, reportedly due to personal matters.

Asked for his impression of Wade, Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said: "He was fantastic. Him, (Kyle) Korver, Jeff Green, Tristan (Thompson) and Shump (Iman Shumpert)."

He added: "Had a great flow, great chemistry and just trying to figure things out and learn on the fly. But he's a smart player and picked things up really quick."

As of the moment, James is still listed as day-to-day and is not expected to be part of the Cavs' scrimmage this Monday.
