Lecrae, Andy Mineo Fans Anxious as 'Unashamed Tour' Arrives in NYC
Christian recording artist Andy Mineo alerted anxious fans early Wednesday that the "Unashamed Tour 2012: Come Alive" concert series featuring Reach Records label mates Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashi, KB, Pro and other artists had officially touched down in NYC for a 7 p.m. show at the Best Buy Theater.
The show, touted as part of one of the biggest hip-hop tours ever, has been highly anticipated by fans, and many of them have taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to share their excitement for the stopover in NYC.
"Pumped 4 NYC #UnashamedTour 2night at BestBuyTheater w/@lecrae @thederekminor @TripLee116 @AndyMineo @KB_HGA @Tedashii. Who else is comin!?" wrote Krista Adour on Twitter.
Luis J. Bello even shared a photo of his ticket, tweeting, "You Already know it's On!! #unashamedtour ... God let you Spirit Fall."
Another fan, Jamie Bragg Jr. – responding to a tweet from Lecrae that read "Dear NYC, Tomorrow night.. 'you gone get this work'" – wrote, "I don't know what that means but I'm pumped to be there!! #whiteboyproblems."
The Unashamed Tour 2012, featuring guest performances from other Christian artists, goes all the way through November, making stops in various U.S. cities as well as in Canada and Europe. The final stop on the tour is Nov. 18 in Memphis, Tenn.
Lecrea and Mineo have shared several photos from various stops on the Unashamed Tour 2012, as shown below, with both rappers snapping shots with former New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin (currently signed to the Houston Rockets).
Fans of the Reach Records artists who have attended shows in other cities have called the performances everything from "amazing" to "buck wild" with many expressing how the songs have helped to strengthen their faith.
Others looking forward to the Unashamed Tour 2012 stopping in their cities include Devin Robinson, the College Associate at Hickory Baptist Church. Robinson shared Wednesday on Twitter: "Just bought 30 tickets to the unashamed tour in Charlotte! #WhoWantsIn?"
The tour, in its fifth year, gets its "unashamed" title from Romans 1:16, where the apostle Paul writes: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."
Lecrae's ReachLife Ministries and Reach Records label work to "bridge the gap between biblical truth and the urban context." Profiles of the artists on the "Unashamed Tour 2012" are featured on Reach Records' website.
