'Left 4 Dead 3' News, Rumors: Valve On The Fast Track To Release A New Installment In 2017?
The two installments of Valve's popular co-op zombie shooter "Left 4 Dead" have both gained critical reviews and are expected to be continued by a lot of fans. Through the years, there has been a mix of rumors pointing out to its development. Just recently, reports emerged indicating that the plans to create the highly-anticipated sequel could finally be in fruition.
Express UK cited their sources claiming that the next chapter of the 2008 shooter, "Left 4 Dead" has now been made the game maker's top priority and is slated to hit the store shelves by 2017.
As further claimed by the people who have knowledge of the issue, the new installment will once again feature four playable characters. In fact, the characters have already been given their individual identities. What is interesting is that there will only be one female character and her name is Katherine.
Not much has been said about the alleged character. What has been known is that she will join the other three characters, who include a "gangster" named Irvin, the "comic book nerd" Keenan and the "famous Kenpo fighter" Garrett Jr.
The character models of the aforementioned characters have also yet to be unveiled.
Apparently, the new chapter of the gaming franchise will reportedly be separated into six campaigns, which are "No Mercy," "Cliff-Hanger," "Early Destination," "Crashland," "Impasse" and "Inquisitor Land."
The report from SegmentNext.com, meanwhile, indicated that the new game will be made available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The same article said that game developer Turtle Rock won't be handling the realization of "Left 4 Dead 3" but instead, it will all be turned over to Valve.
Via XboxAchievements.com, Turtle Rock Studio's co-founder Phil Robb said the studio is already "pretty much done with it" and that "it's Valve's thing now."
"We've kind of gone off in our own direction. So I'd kinda like to see something new being done with it, and Valve always does great stuff, but it'd be cool to go back to it as just a fan and not a developer. But I doubt you'll see anything from us," he told XBA.
Stay tuned for more updates.
