'Legends of Tomorrow' Cast News, Update: 'Mr. Robot' Star Joins Superhero Series as the Ice Queen
The cast member list of The CW's highly-anticipated superhero series "Legends of Tomorrow" continues to grow and this time, a name from USA Network's "Mr. Robot" is mentioned to be joining the fray.
Actress Stephanie Corneliussen, who plays Joanna, the enigmatic wife of Martin Wallstrom's Tyrell Wellick in the techno thriller, has been tapped to take on the role of a DC Comics character named Valentina Vostok.
Citing the casting report from TVLine, it is said that Corneliussen's character is slated to be featured in "multiple episodes" of the show in which she was described as a "gifted and beautiful Soviet physicist who will stop at nothing to defend her precious 'Motherland.'"
The report said that the Legends, comprising of White Canary (Caity Lotz), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), just to name a few, will encounter her as they go back during the Cold War-era.
The band of superheroes will think she is working with Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) in a scientific project involving a powerful secret weapon.
The blonde will find herself getting wooed by the dashing Ray and the smooth-talking Leonard. Little does she know that their attempts to "thaw her cold heart" would actually be to uncover whom she is working for.
On related casting news, ComicBook.com reported this week that the role of Dr. Albus Boardman has already been cast to Peter Francis James. According to the publication, the St. Roch University Classics professor first appears in an "Arrow" crossover episode and then will continue to be in the upcoming DC TV show.
Warner Bros (via ComicBook) described the character as someone "who has devoted his life to researching the story of Chayara (Hawkgirl) and Prince Khufu (Hawkman) and their link to Vandal Savage." Boardman will be entangled with the Legends as they embark on their mission to go back in time to defeat Vandal and prevent the destruction of the time continuum.
"Legends of Tomorrow" is slated to premiere 2016.
