'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 2 Spoilers: Legion of Doom Creates an Alternate World, Rory Will Be the Heroes' Only Hope

For its penultimate episode, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will bring the Waverider crew to a dreadful alternate realm called the Doomsworld, which is also the installment's title.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Brandon Routh, who plays Ray Palmer in the series, revealed what this scary new world has in store.

"For the Legends, it's very different. None of us have our abilities and powers. Ray is a janitor for S.T.A.R. Labs, and the world is being run by insane crazy people. So, yeah, it's a bit of the worst nightmare," Routh said.

It appears that the Legion of Doom will be able to change reality in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 and concoct a world based on how they want it to be.

The synopsis for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, episode 16 teases that the Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman).

However, "Doomsworld" will see the trio struggle working as a team, as per usual and it looks like their inability to relate well to each other will cost them their success, but not before messing with their rivals.

The synopsis for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, episode 1 also teases betrayals and dark fates for Rip (Arthur Darvill), Sara (Caity Lotz) and company. Only Rory (Dominic Purcell) can save them all. The summary reads:

After obtaining the Spear of Destiny, the Legion of Doom rewrites reality, leaving the Legends changed, perhaps forever. Frightfully, the Legends' and the world's hopes rest with Rory, but being the 'hero' is not easy for him. Meanwhile, there is tension within the Legion of Doom and the reason why the Spear of Destiny needs to be destroyed is revealed.

Before all this takes place, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will first treat fans with episode 14, "Moonshot," on Tuesday, March 14, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.

In this episode, the Legends learn where Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) has hidden the last piece of Spear of Destiny and leads them to involve themselves in the Apollo 13 mission.
