'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 3 Spoilers: Will the League Heroes Meet Another Justice Society of America Member?

The possible return of the Justice Society of America (JSA) has been teased by one of the production heads of "Legends of Tomorrow" for the show's third season.

On his Twitter account, executive producer Marc Guggenheim posted a photo of a mask that fans believe to be owned by a JSA member named Sandy Hawkins, who is also known as the Sandman.

According to a report, the character was first introduced in 1941 as the orphaned nephew of the original Sandman's girlfriend. He was known as a vigilante whose superpower is his limited foresight of the upcoming events that occur to him in the form of dreams. He could also reportedly manipulate the soil and the earth on a grand scale.

The Sandman is expected to be featured in the special crossover episode of the "Arrowverse," but he is not the first character from the popular superhero team to appear in The CW's superhero fiction series.

In season 2, fans of "Legends of Tomorrow" was introduced to the character named Vixen, portrayed by Maisie Richardson-Sellers. At the end of the season, Vixen decided to join the Legends to look for the person responsible for killing her lover Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams).

However, there is no word yet regarding about who will fill in the role of the Sandman in the show's upcoming installment.

Meanwhile, Guggenheim claimed that the Legends' upcoming battle with the Time Bureau can be compared to the face-off between the Beverly Hills police department and Axel Foley. "We find the fun in that antagonistic relationship," the executive producer stated in an interview with TVLine.

He also revealed that the Legends will be joined by a new member named Zari Adrianna Tomaz (Tala Ashe), who is described as a Muslim hacktivist from the future. "The idea of a character from the future was interesting to us, because she's like, 'If you saved the world, you didn't do a very good job,'" Guggenheim also said. "She takes the piss out of our heroes."

The CW will air the premiere episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 9 p.m. EDT.
