Lena Dunham Sounds Off on Chris Brown's Abusive Past
Lena Dunham, the 26-year-old actress, is sounding off on Chris Brown for the second time months after Rihanna's fans threatened the television star.
Dunham, the filmmaker who is responsible for the creation of the HBO series "Girls," recently spoke about her issues with Brown's morals.
"You know people who are like, 'It's just not my thing,'" Dunham told GQ U.K. "Or perhaps their morals don't jibe with my morals, you know, the same way I feel about Chris Brown- it's not for me, I don't like your attitude and you are not someone I want to take in."
The actress and filmmaker went on to speak out about Brown's past when he publicly abused girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
"Though, admittedly, I've never beaten any of my lovers in a car while heading [to] the Grammys, so maybe I'm just not 'with it' or something," Dunham told GQ U.K.
Dunham's most recent comments about Brown were not her first. Earlier this year, spoke out about the singer failing to act as a role model on social media when speaking on actor Alec Baldwin's podcast "Here's The Thing."
"It's an amazing thing and it's like, it's a platform that you have to take seriously," Dunham said on the podcast. "Which is why sometimes it's like I used to be really into Rihanna, that pop star, and then it's like again, I don't want to ever throw stones from my glass house, but I follow her on Instagram and I just think about how many little girls beyond what I could even comprehend are obsessed with Rihanna."
While the creator of "Girls" went on to highlight the singer's accomplishments, she also criticized Rihanna's decision to promote smoking and hanging around her ex-boyfriend who assaulted her years ago.
"Like you know, she left Barbados, she's had this amazing career, she's won a Grammy, she's talented," Dunham said. "And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed … And it cracks my heart in half in a way that makes me feel like I'm 95 years old."
