Lenovo Yoga 720 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Convertible Laptop with Kaby Lake, GTX 1050 to Launch at MWC?
Details for the Lenovo Yoga 720, believed to be introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month, have recently been leaked online. The next-generation convertible laptop is expected to be the successor of the Yoga 710, which was released at the same event last year.
Promotional images and the technical specifications of the upcoming device were released by NotebookItalia. According to the publication, the Yoga 720 will have two variants — a 13.3-inch model and a 15.6-inch version. They offer significantly more screen real estate compared to the Yoga 710's 11-inch and 14-inch models. The Yoga 720 laptops will also come in three colors: Platinum Silver, Iron Gray and Rose Gold.
Based on the leaked images, Lenovo's refreshed laptops will retain the overall design of its predecessor. However, they seem to have a thinner form factor and ultra-thin bezels. The Yoga 720 is also said to be equipped with a fingerprint reader on the palm rest.
The display will reportedly feature a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. As convertible laptops, they also come with Lenovo's proprietary Yoga hinge that allows them to transform into four modes: Notebook, Tablet, Stand and Tent.
The 13.3-inch laptop can support up to the seventh-generation Intel Core i5-7200U processor while the 15.6-inch model will be able to support the Kaby Lake-based Intel Core i7-700HQ chip. The larger variant will also come with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics processing unit (GPU) with 2 GB of dedicated video random-access memory (VRAM).
Both will come with either 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of built-in solid-state drive (SSD) storage.
Other notable features include a backlit keyboard, the Windows 10 Home operating system and premium sound quality via JBL and Dolby Audio Premium. Connectivity-wise, the Lenovo Yoga 720 will have USB 3.0, 3.1 and Type-C ports.
Pricing and availability have not yet been revealed. More details will be announced during the official launch at MWC 2017, scheduled from Feb. 27 to March 2.
