Leonardo DiCaprio Auctions Tickets for Charity

Leonardo DiCaprio has raised funds by auctioning tickets to his upcoming premiere event and will donate the money to charity.

The actor has donated two tickets to the charity J/P Haitian Relief Organization, founded by Sean Penn.

Also, the two lucky attendees will be invited to the after-party in addition to a chance to pose for a photo with the "J. Edgar" star during a brief meet-and-greet session.

Penn founded the charitable organization to help Haitian families recover after the devastating earthquake of 2010.It is estimated that the tickets will raise as much as $25,000 for the organization before the CharityBuzz offering ends on Feb. 9. Currently, the bid for DiCaprio's event stands at $7,500.

CharityBuzz offers fans a chance to win one-of-a-kind experiences with their favorite celebrities by auctioning tickets and other items on their website. The buyers' winning bids then go to some of the world's most well-respected charities in the world.

The company is a fundraising partnered with more than 1,000 nonprofit organizations worldwide and has raised over $40 million, according to their website.

DiCaprio is well-known for his charitable deeds as well as his eco-friendly habits. The 37-year-old actor and environmentalist has stated that he plans to build a resort that is entirely eco-friendly in Belize.

In the past, the actor has chosen to fly on commercial flights instead of chartering private jets in order minimize fuel use, and it was reported that he drives a hybrid car. The star has also donated thousands of dollars to humanitarian and wildlife conservatory causes.

At this year's Screen Actor's Guild Awards, DiCaprio is expected to earn recognition for his work in the "J. Edgar" biopic.
