Leonardo DiCaprio Taking a 'Long, Long Break'
Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed that his busy schedule has left him "worn out" and that a long break is in the works for the actor.
The Oscar-winning actor completed three films back-to-back last year: "Django Unchained," "The Great Gatsby," and "The Wolf of Wall Street."
While "Django" was released Christmas Day, "Gatsby" is set to hit theaters May 10, and "Wolf on Wall Street" has not yet received a release date.
"I'm a bit drained," admitted DiCaprio while speaking to Germany's Bild. "I'm now going to take a long, long break. I've done three films in two years and I'm just worn out."
The 38-year-old actor divulged that spending time with his friends are among his top priorities as he breaks from acting, but that he will remain focused on his environmental activism.
"I would like to improve the world a bit," said DiCaprio speaking to the newspaper. "I will fly around the world doing good for the environment."
The "Titanic" superstar is well known for having environmentally friendly habits, such as flying commercially instead of having his own private jet and using alternate sources of power in order to cut down on the use of energy.
"My roof is covered with solar panels," the actor noted. "My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 50 kilometers (31 miles) a day. That can be done with a plug."
As previously reported, DiCaprio's idea of a break includes acting "like a complete idiot" with friends.
"I take what I do very seriously, when I'm on the set that's all I focus on," explained the actor to The Daily Mirror U.K. "So my vice is to hang out with my friends, talk about absolutely nothing of importance and act like a complete idiot."
DiCaprio added that being with his friends is "like therapy," but that his busy schedule has kept him away from his Los Angeles home.
"I love to have friends over, but I haven't really been home for a year and a half so I don't even remember the last time I did that," said the actor before adding that he is "looking forward to getting back to my house."
Meanwhile, DiCaprio's role in "Django Unchained" earned him a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination, but the award went to his co-star, Christoph Waltz.
