Leslie Carter Dead: Backstreet Boy's Sister Dies at 25
Leslie Carter, sister to renowned singers Nick and Aaron Carter, tragically died on Tuesday at the age of 25. Although details of Carter's death have not yet been released, the family confirmed that she had in fact died in New York, according to Access Hollywood.
"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter," the Carter family said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
"We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time," the statement added.

Carter's cause of death is still being determined, and it will likely be weeks before an autopsy can confirm what led to the tragedy.
Carter, mother of one, is the daughter of Jane Elizabeth and Robert Gene Carter, who are now divorced.
The aspiring sister was married to husband Mike Ashton, and leaves behind 10-month-old Alyssa Jane Ashton.
Carter frequently appeared on her family's E! reality TV show "House of Carters," where she is often seen writing music and performing for her family.
While Carter had some success in her music career, she was best known as being the sister to former Backstreet boy Nick and pop singer Aaron.
Both brothers have publicly battled drug and alcohol abuse which has led to ongoing health problems including cardiomyopathy, which 32-year-old Nick was previously diagnosed with.
Aaron, 24, best known for his hit singles "I Want Candy" and "Crush On You," entered the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. in February of 2011.
Both brothers are believed to have positively turned their lives around, and Aaron is currently starring in the off Broadway play "The Fantasticks."
Carter had once signed a record deal, though her album was never released. Her song "Like Wow!" was featured on the "Shrek" soundtrack in 2001.
It is unclear whether a funeral date has been set for Carter.
