'Lethal Weapon' Season 1 Episode 17 Spoilers: Penultimate Episode Brings Love and Drug Troubles for Riggs

The penultimate episode of "Lethal Weapon" season 1 will once again bring Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) and Riggs (Clayne Crawford) face to face with the Mexican drug cartel. Will Riggs survive the potentially deadly brush-up while his continuously deepening relations with DEA Agent Palmer (Hilarie Burton) still bear heavily on his mind?

Riggs is not always one to face his problems head on. Instead of just embracing the potential happiness that comes his way, he'd much rather act out before he becomes completely consumed by guilt over Miranda's death (Floriana Lima). His wife is dead and it's only been a year since, so how dare he let himself be happy?

But he does want to be happy. When Palmer came along, he finally has an opportunity that he doesn't want to miss. Yet, he just keeps acting out. Old habits die hard, after all. In the next episode titled "A Problem Like Maria," both Capt. Avery (Kevin Rahm) and district attorney Delgado (Tony Plana) will show concern for Riggs' mounting impulsiveness.

And before Murtaugh begins thinking again about changing careers just to be rid of Riggs' antics, which Riggs will probably just sabotage again anyway, Trish (Keesha Sharp) will be exploring the potentials of taking on an amazing new career. Will this career be closely related to her former job as district attorney, or will it be something else that does not have anything to do with the law?

"Lethal Weapon" returns in two weeks on Wednesday, March 8, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.

In other news, the series has just been renewed for a second season, as reported by Deadline. Expect more madness and mayhem from the odd partnership of Murtaugh and Riggs in the next fall season. Will they still be together by then? It will all depend on how they will fare through the heart-pounding final two episodes of this hit buddy cop series.
