Lex Luger Book: Former WWE Superstar Found Jesus and Gave Up Life of Addiction
Former professional wrestler in the WWE and WCW, Lex Luger, wrote a book about his struggles with drugs, alcohol, and sex during his run as a wrestling superstar, and how he turned his life to Jesus.
The book, "Wrestling with the Devil: The True Story of a World Champion Professional Wrestler--His Reign, Ruin, and Redemption" was co-written with John D. Hollis.
Luger was one of the biggest wrestlers in the world and was three-time world heavyweight champion, that was known as "The Total Package." Fellow wrestler and Christian, Steve "Sting" Borden, wrote the forward in the book.
He seemed almost invincible as he personified the perfect physique, makeup, and in ring ability to propel himself to fame. His one flaw however, was his weakness toward temptation and the distractions that often plague athletes.
Behind the scenes Luger was fighting with addictions to sex, drugs, and alcohol. He continued his abuse even though his mistress overdosed and he was incarcerated.
After a series of personal problems, Luger suffered a major injury as well, and found himself paralyzed from the neck down.
Miraculous, and by the grace of God, Luger was able to overcome all of his demons, both mentally and physically, and he can now walk again.
Now Luger uses his life as a perfect testimony as to what God can do in a broken person's life.
In "Wrestling with the Devil" the wrestler will reveal never-before-told stories from his career, speak about his most trying times, and share about his faith, grace, and redemption.
