South Korean tech company LG is bringing its loyal customers a smartphone that costs less but fits perfectly for 3G markets. According to Digital Trends, LG has announced a mid-range device dubbed as the Ray.
The company has created the smartphone in order to continue to bring products to its customers in 3G markets. As said in a blogpost by Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, "Customers in 3G markets continue to be a priority for LG so we will continue to develop new products with these consumers in mind." He added, "No matter the country or the device, every LG customers will receive a unique user experience with a balance of design, performance and value."
GSM Arena noted that the new mobile device is much like the LG G4 Stylus. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution at 277 pixels per inch. It is not a full HD device though. With a metallic frame design, the LG Ray is equipped with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. It has 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card slot. It also has a removable 3,000mAh battery and runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG's custom skin on top.
For capturing moments, the device is installed with a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera. As expected, Phone Arena detailed that the device does not come with an LTE, but instead it will only have an HSPA and 3G. It also includes familiar features like the Gesture Shot for the camera and the Knock Code to unlock the phone.
Color options available include Silver, Gold and Titan Black. Android Authority reported that the LG Ray will roll out for the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) regions this week, followed by Latin America.
