LG G Flex Release Date for Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile Coming Soon
Release dates for the LG G Flex on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint should be coming soon.
@evleaks tweeted a message that claims the flexible smartphone will launch on all three major U.S. carriers sometime in the near future.
"LG G Flex confirmed for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile," said@evleaks through Twitter.
The device is currently available in South Korea and will arrive in France through local mobile operator Orange.
The site is normally accurate when it comes to leaks; however, LG has not mentioned anything about launching the device through those carriers. If the rumor does turn out to be true, LG will beat Samsung by releasing the first flexible smartphone in the U.S.
Various promo videos for the G Flex have been released in the past few weeks revealing different features the device possesses including its ability to heal itself. It also comes with a flexible battery, flexible display and flexible chassis.
Other specs on the G Flex include a 6-inch 720p display, a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 3500mAh battery.
It will also come with a button on the back which is a component that has been spotted in previous leaks. The backing on it is made from a "special protective film" has the ability to repair itself just minutes after it is scratched.
The G Flex does not feature any special software that caters to the Flex display, according to Android Authority. However, it does come with tilting wallpaper and different unlocking effects when the screen is touched in different places.
The device's main appeal is that it provides a better experience for watching video. Users also have the ability to turn on multimedia apps directly from the lock screen, and have better ergonomics for phone calls.
