LG G3 Rumors: Gold Model Spotted, Multiple Color Launch?
The LG G3 could launch in multiple colors as pictures that surfaced on the internet earlier this week show the device in gold.
These new images also give users a better look at the front and back of the smartphone. Its new metallic look places it in the same aesthetic category as the HTC One M8. Judging from all of the recent leaks, it seems like the G3 will sport a very high-end look.
LG announced the new 5.5-inch Quad HD AH-IPS LCD panel this week which might be featured on the G3 smartphone.
The display measures in at 1.2mm thick and it requires a 1.15mm bezel. The company plans to sell this panel to other smartphone makers and will also be using it for its own devices. It was certified by a company called NEMKO which is based in Norway.
LG issued a press release which discusses the new panel.
"These products are going to maintain sufficient competitive advantage in premium product categories where large size, high resolution and low power consumption are key factors," wrote the company.
It can achieve 538 ppi and 100 percent RGB color reproduction. LG also enhanced the pixel structure and aperture ratio in the LTPS backplane giving it the same brightness capability of a Full HD panel.
Another recent set of images that feature a case for the LG G3 show that the device could come with a stylus.
A spot is left open in the upper right corner and could be used to leave room for a user to pull a stylus out of it. However, there is also a strong possibility that this design could have been made to accommodate a TV antenna that will come with the Korean version of the LG G3.
The stylus would be an interesting feature as it would pit the G3 nicely against a similar Galaxy Note 3. Both of these devices would never fit comfortably in the regular smartphone market.
