LG G3 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Comparison and Review: Which Smartphone is the Better Buy?

LG's latest smartphone, the G3, is being hailed as a superior smartphone with its QHD display and impressive specs. Samsung is set to release the next phone in its flagship Galaxy series, the S6, but it is still months away from hitting the market.

Right now, the G3's QHD display is a difficult milestone to beat and none of Samsung's offerings can match it. Spec wise, a few of the South Korean giant's devices can probably stand toe-to-toe against the G3. One of them is the Galaxy Note 3.

The first thing to notice between the G3 and the Note 3 is the one step advantage of a QHD display (2560 x 1440 resolution). The Note 3 only has a full HD display (1920 X 1080 resolution).

It also doesn't help the Note 3 win the battle in the display category as it has a larger screen than the G3. With the Note 3's larger 5.7-inch screen, its pixel density drops to about 386 while the G3, with its smaller screen and higher resolution, boasts a sharper and clearer 534-pixel density.

Speed wise, the two devices are fairly close with the G3 sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor while the Note 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 processor.

The two devices share the same 3GB RAM but the G3 only offers the 3GB RAM with a 32GB variant, with a 16GB variant getting only 2GB of RAM. The Note 3 on the other hand offers 3GB of RAM with all its 16GB/32GB/64GB variants.

Both devices have the same 13MP camera but the G3 has a dual-LED flash and an optical image stabilizer. Both, however, can record at the same 2160p quality video at 30fps.

In terms of pricing, the G3 is more expensive than the Note 3 by around $250. The Note 3 goes for about $530 (400 euros) while the G3 sells for around $780 (600 euros). The G3's premium price tag is brought about by its higher resolution screen and fairly faster specs.
