LG G6 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Phone Boasts a Large Yet Handy Display Screen
The year 2017 is shaping up to be a heated battle of features and specs in the mobile arena, and it looks like the already saturated playing field is going to be even more congested with the rebirth of another brand. LG aims to take a shot at its redemption and return to its glory with the announced LG G6.
In the brand's official website, a glimpse at the soon-to-be-released unit is paired with a short yet enticing tagline, "Big screen. Small phone." That simple statement pretty much says it all, as it sports a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio which means the smartphone will take full advantage of the screen, aiming to deliver the biggest display possible.
Another thing worth noting aside from the large screen is how it aims to deliver QHD+ resolution with Dolby Vision. This assures owners that along with the bigger display comes a high-definition picture that users can enjoy.
It appears that this was a milestone that the company has aimed to achieve for quite some time. According to Korea Herald, LG's mobile division executive director Kim Byung-koo has been proud of the team's efforts, and now he can ably boast about the achievement.
"QHD+ is expected to maximize users' experience and value by providing ultra-high definition, differentiating from all other mobile display panels," he said.
Another notable feature of the LG G6 is its wide-angle front camera, allowing the user to take advantage of both the Gesture Shot and Auto Shot. Given the tech generation today, it is shaping up to be a must-have for selfie addicts.
Aside from its aesthetic value, it proves to be a rather quick smartphone. Per GSM Arena, the LG G6 is expected to run using a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 with the Android OS v7.0, more popularly known as the Android Nougat.
As for the smartphone's price, Android Authority speculates that it could range from $500 to $700, although fans will know for sure once the LG G6 officially releases first in South Korea on March 9.
