Liam Hemsworth Fears Patrick Schwarzenegger May Be Using Miley Cyrus for Publicity

Though Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have called it quits, it was reported that he still cares about his former fiancée and wants her to be happy. Miley appears to have found love again with her new boyfriend, Patrick Schwarzenegger, who looks equally smitten with her. But a source from Hollywood Life claims that Liam is worried that Patrick may have an ulterior motive for dating the singer.

"He does still care about Miley. He still feels protective of her," said the source. "He hopes she's happy but he can't help but be a little suspicious of Patrick. He thinks he could just be using Miley for publicity. He hopes that's not what's happening but Liam has his doubts."

It's not only Liam who is concerned about the relationship. Apparently, Patrick's mother, Maria Shriver, is worried about her son's feelings for Miley as she is reportedly against their relationship. A new report from Life & Style claims that Maria is trying to ban Miley from the Kennedy family's Christmas celebration.

"Maria doesn't want her there and won't budge," an insider said to Life & Style. "She doesn't think it's appropriate to have Miley around the rest of the Kennedy family." But Patrick is standing by Miley and the source said that he "insists on having her there— or he will not come."

This is not the first time that the singer has had to deal with a boyfriend's family members opposing their relationship. It was reported that she went through the same thing with Liam's family, and in a recent interview with GQ, Liam's older brother Chris Hemsworth, appears to have made a reference to Liam's previous relationship with the singer.

"I've watched Liam do things I did at his age, like being in relationships he shouldn't be in, or being reckless just to prove a point. And I had no empathy," he told GQ.
