Liam Hemsworth Still 'Supports' Miley Cyrus Despite VMAs Disaster
Liam Hemsworth has not spoken publicly regarding Miley Cyrus' widely criticized MTV VMAs performance, however a new report claims the actor has been supportive.
On August 25 Cyrus, 19, took to the stage in latex underwear and put on a lewd live performance of her new single "We Can't Stop." Hemsworth, 23, has been criticized for failing to publicly defend his fiance, who has been slammed by the press over the overtly sexualized routine, however a source claims this is because "Hunger Games" actor simply likes his privacy.
"He is very proud that she is doing the thing that she loves and he supports her, he just doesn't broadcast it with a parade for the whole world to see," a source close to Liam told HollwoodLife.com. "He likes being private with her and their relationship, whereas she doesn't. But you know what they say — opposites attract!"
Over the past year Cyrus has made headlines for questionable reasons including her drastic weight loss; edgy haircuts; getting her 10th tattoo and wrist cutting suspicion. While Hemsworth is said to be in love with the former Disney star, sources claim that her erratic behavior is beginning to push away.
"It's not just Liam that Miley is pushing away…his entire team is urging him to part ways with her because she's nothing but negative for his reputation and career. Liam is a serious actor with a growing career, while Miley has just turned into a joke," a source told RadarOnline.com.
The pair, who got engaged in 2012, was rocked by cheating claims in February after Hemsworth was photographed enjoying a night out with actress January Jones, 35. Critics are now questioning whether their relationship can survive Cyrus' VMAs disaster.
"It's pretty much over. He knows he can't stay with her when this is who she's become," the source explained. "He doesn't want to babysit her anymore. He has to move on."
"Liam really does care about Miley, but her racy new look and sort of ghetto attitude isn't exactly what he signed up for," an alleged friend of Hemsworth told RadarOnline.com.
