Liam Hemsworth Wished Ex Miley Cyrus a Happy 21st Birthday?
Liam Hemsworth reportedly wished Miley Cyrus a happy birthday on Saturday, however he did not attended the singer's 21st birthday bash.
The "Hunger Games" actor, 23, is believed to have reached out to his former fiance after receiving an invitation to her party, which was held Sunday at Beacher's Madhouse. Hemsworth and Cyrus called off their engagement in September, after four years of dating. Reports claim they have recently been in contact, though.
"The recent contact he has had with her was to wish her Happy Birthday but that is about it," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
The former Disney star closed the American Music Awards by performing her hit single "Wrecking Ball" on Sunday, and shortly after she headed to Beacher's Madhouse to celebrate her milestone birthday. Hemsworth was reportedly not in attendance.
"Liam has been made aware of the performance and he hasn't seen it yet, but has heard about it," a source said of Cyrus' AMAs performance.
In August, Cyrus, who got engaged to Hemsworth in 2012, made headlines around the world over her lewd MTV VMAs performance. Reports claimed the pop star's racy new image added strain to her already fragile relationship with Hemsworth and the pair eventually parted ways within weeks.
Reports claimed Cyrus, who began dating the Australian actor in 2009, was initially devastated over the split, but the pair has since moved on. Hemsworth alluded to him and Cyrus being on good terms despite their broken engagement.
"I'm extremely happy for all of her success," he told Extra.
In October, Hemsworth was linked to Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez, 23, after the pair was photographed kissing in Las Vegas. He denied having a relationship and insisted that he is single.
"I don't have a lady at the moment," Hemsworth said.
Cyrus recently insisted that she is happy and focused on work following her split from Hemsworth. She too has been linked to others.
"I want to be really clear and determined with everything I'm doing in my life right now ... I am genuinely happy, finally with myself," she said.
