'Life in Pieces' episode 2 spoilers and pilot episode recap: Pilot episode shows promise
In the next episode of "Life in Pieces" entitled "Interruptus Date Breast Movin," the official synopsis reads, Joan organizes a family meeting after Matt walks in on her and John being intimate; Jen hires breast-feeding consultants; Matt and Colleen have a bad date; and Heather and Tim move with the help of ex-cons.
The pilot episode began with a date between Matt and Coleen that was at the tail end. Coleen had invited Matt up to her house only to discover that her ex-husband is there and is still interested in her. Matt invited Coleen to his house instead, but unfortunately, his parents Joan and John were in the living room watching television. They decided to do the deed in the car instead, but they are caught by a police officer.
The next scene showed Matt's brother Greg and his wife Jen in the hospital as they prepared for the birth of their child. Greg tried to be supportive, while Jen worried about pooping on the bed. The couple had a beautiful baby girl and they were completely clueless on how to take care of their newborn child. Awkwardness ensued when Greg had to relieve his wife's pain by inserting a latex-filled glove up her private part.
The awkwardness continued when Heather, the oldest sibling was bringing her eldest son to scout for colleges, along with the rest of their family. Tim had an interesting and very awkward conversation with his son. Heather lamented the fact that her children are growing up and wanted to make another baby.
The final scene in the episode is the fake funeral and birthday party of John, the father of Matt, Greg, and Heather. Their mother Joan was weirded out by her husband's idea but nonetheless goes through with it. The siblings play along. The episode ends with the family as they wheeled the coffin to the nearest jiffy lube since their father got stuck inside.
"Life in Pieces" airs every Monday.
