Lil Wayne Hospitalized After Suffering Seizure in Los Angeles

Rapper and entertainer Lil Wayne was rushed to the hospital after reportedly suffering seizures in Los Angeles Tuesday.

The rapper, whose real name is Dewayne Carter, was shooting a music video with Nicki Minaj in the southern California city for her "Re-Up" single "High School," when the seizures began and was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital. A representative for the 30-year-old rapper revealed that he is recovering well, according to entertainment website TMZ.

"Everybody that's around him is taking care of him. Wayne has so many people around him that truly, genuinely love him. I'm not worried at all," Minaj told MTV.

"Even him being on the plane, thank God that there was somebody there right away that was able to help him. I'm just thankful that he was OK," she added.

This is not the first time the rapper has been treated for seizures. Last October, the private plane he was traveling in had to make an emergency landing after he started experiencing a seizure-like attack while in flight. It was later claimed that Wayne had suffered a severe migraine and was also dehydrated.

He then suffered another seizure-like attack again in October and was hospitalized once more and ordered by doctors to rest.

"Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration. He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love," Wayne's rep said in a statement published by Hollywood Life.

Wayne later admitted that he was taking medication for seizures, adding that doctors had told him that he needed to drink several bottles of water a day.
