Lillie Leonardi, 'Angels Guarded Sep. 11 Crash Site' (VIDEO)

Lillie Leonardi was an employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation when a plane was hijacked and crashed on September 11, 2001. She has written a new book in which she claims to have seen angels at the scene, though she didn't say anything to her colleagues at the time.

"A white mist then began to take shape," Leonardi recounts in her book In the Shadow of a Badge: A Spiritual Memoir. "It moved and swirled in patterns of spectacular white light. All at once, the mist took full shape and I saw what appeared to be angels."

"There were angels standing in the open area to the left of the crash site. There were hundreds of them standing in columns. There was a field of angels emerging from the realms of the mist. They were Archangels with their wings arched up toward the sky," she explained.

Also at the scene was a Bible buried in the wreckage that was somehow preserved from damage, Leonardi noted. "All of a sudden this huge wind came out of nowhere and flipped that Bible open and I remember it flipped open to Psalm 23, 'The Lord is my shepherd…'"

Claims of angel sightings are nothing new to believers and non-believers. Dr. Judith MacNutt recently released her own book, Angels are for Real: Inspiring, True Stories and Biblical Answers, and spoke with The Christian Post about the interest in the supernatural.

"Heaven and belief in the supernatural has resurged in popularity, among other reasons, due to world events," MacNutt explained. "The financial crunch, so many people in sorrow and sadness… There's a wonderful realm that people are hungry to get back to… to know there's Heaven, angels, and healing!"

For Leonardi, who practices a self-described spiritualism, there is no doubt about what she saw on September 11. "To this day, I know I saw those angels, I've never doubted that. What I doubted was… why me?"
