Lily Allen Baby Girl Born Named Marnie Rose

Lily Allen and her husband John Cooper have welcomed a new baby girl into the world.

Allen, 27, and Cooper, 32, began dating in 2009. The couple became engaged in December of 2010 while vacationing in Bali.

The couple was wed in June of 2011 and in November of 2011, the former singer-songwriter gave birth to her first child, Ethel Mary. The baby girl was a happy blessing to Allen after suffering two miscarriages.

On Thursday, Ethel Mary was joined by a sister named Marnie Rose. Ethel was a surprise to the couple, who had not yet planned on having another child.

"It was a surprise but Lily and Sam are thrilled," a source told The Daily Mirror when news of the second pregnancy broke. "The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it's great timing."

Allen has received much support for the new baby via Twitter. She stated on Thursday morning that she was both overwhelmed and grateful by the outpouring.

"Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody," Allen wrote on her Twitter account. The new mother appeared too busy in the afternoon to write anymore on Twitter than "bug a boo a bug a boo."

After meeting Cooper, Allen had suggested that she was interested in pursuing work as an actress and stated that she would no longer be recording music. Her musical hiatus came to an end this past July after Allen announced that she had headed back to the recording studio. Her latest work included a feature on the track "True Love" from Pink's latest album, "The Truth About Love."
