'Limitless' TV series cast news: Bradley Cooper plays Senator
Details about the upcoming CBS series "Limitless" were revealed to excite fans about its premiere.
Limitless was a 2011 film by Neil Burger. The thriller film starred Bradley Cooper, and it is expected to receive a TV adaptation soon. The series is expected to continue the story explored in the movie. However, it will expand the story as explained by showrunner Craig Sweeny. He said that the show is free to create its own narrative based on the film.
The story of Limitless focuses on a drug called NZT. The character of Bradley Cooper is a writer who used the pill to enhance his brain power to 100 percent its potential. As for the series, the story will center around Brian Finch, played by Jake McDorman.
Sweeny shared that his team has been working on several interesting ideas to execute the effect of NZT. Jason Zimmerman, supervisor of VFX, shared an example that will be seen in the actual series. He said that the premiere will show Finch visualizing a family tree while he's solving a problem. Zimmerman stated, "It's revealing what it's like to be inside the head of someone on NZT. It actually has to aid in telling the story." It was shared that after Brian received the pill, he will be able to solve medical mysteries. He then becomes recruited by FBI agents, played by Jennifer Carpenter and Hill Harper. He will also encounter the character of Bradley Cooper, Sen. Eddi Mora.
Sweeny said, "What we're doing with the serialized element of the show is exploring why Eddie Mora wants Brian in the FBI and what he's going to ask of him. [This] feeds into the larger questions of who knows about NZT, where it comes from and, of the people who know about it, what are their goals and how do they think it'll best be employed?"
Limitless will premiere on Sept. 22.
