Anne Hathaway and Lindsay Lohan 'Alike?'

Anne Hathaway has admitted that she has more like party-girl Lindsay Lohan that people realize.

The "Princess Diaries" star and Lohan have both starred in Disney movies, but have done very different things with their careers.

"Lindsay Lohan and I have more in common than people think," said Hathaway speaking to U.K.'s The Sun. "We've all done things we shouldn't."

The 29-year-old actress continued to explain that she is "no saint."

"It is just that I did stuff at college when nobody knew about it. I wasted time doing self-destructive things," Hathaway divulged.

Lohan, 25, is fighting to save her acting career after many legal battles. Alternatively, Hathaway's future looks very bright with her upcoming film "The Dark Knight Rises" in theaters this summer.

"I found you can only dance on so many table tops," said Hathaway, reported The Sun. "I got all that out of my system and I am healthy and grounded."

Hathaway, who recently became engaged to Adam Shulman, named her mother as the source of her good sense.

"My mother, Kate McCauley, taught me to be always understanding of other people - and to have a sense of humor about yourself," said the actress. "Mom has also encouraged me not to be one of those people who worry about weight."

The New York-native noted her interpretation of what a "regular" girl in Hollywood means.

"I know when people refer to me as a 'regular' girls, that it is just a code word for 'fat' in Hollywood. It is completely understandable," she said.

Hathaway reported that as a teenager she worried about her body, but now she is comfortable with her shape.

"I would rather be strong than skinny," said the actress.

"The Dark Knight Rises" premieres July 20 and also stars Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Gary Oldman.

The New York-native noted her interpretation of what a "regular" girl in Hollywood means.
