Lindsay Lohan Faces Jail Time if Guilty of Probation Violations
Lindsay Lohan could be jailed for over a year if she’s found guilty of violating probation.
According to TMZ, Lohan is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Stephanie Sautner Wednesday, where she’ll have to answer for a myriad of indiscretions.
Back in 2007, when Lohan’s troubles started, she admitted in a press statement, “I am addicted to alcohol and drugs,” but appeared to be taking steps towards recovery.
The latest steps in her recovery efforts came from Judge Sautner, who ordered her to perform 360 hours of community service. Lohan was supposed to volunteer at The Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles, but after she failed to turn up for nine scheduled sessions, she was removed and placed into another program, this time headed by the American Red Cross.
Sources at TMZ also confirm that Lohan will have to answer for failing to meet her required number of community service hours. She was ordered to be in the program for at least four hours at a time, but the “Mean Girls” star would leave sometimes after only an hour. Her total hours of community service have been called, "very unimpressive."
Another requirement of Lohan’s probation was to see a therapist. According to the San Francisco Examiner, the actress missed two sessions of therapy for a modeling job in Paris, choosing instead to have two 45-minute sessions over the phone. Lohan maintains she got permission from both her probation officer and therapist for the phone calls, however.
Over the years, Lohan has been entangled in several highly publicized incidents, including a house arrest, 84-minute jail stay, multiple DUIs, several stints in rehab, and getting caught with cocaine.
