Lindsay Lohan Gains 5 Pounds: Actress Puts on Weight After Being Taken Off Adderall (VIDEO)

Lindsay Lohan has gained 5 pounds in weight after being taken off Adderall in rehab over recent weeks, according to reports.

Lohan is currently undergoing court-ordered rehab, and according to a source close to the actress, she has struggled without her Adderall, the Inquisitr has reported.

The actress has reportedly gained 5 pounds as a result of coming off the drug, which is a psychostimulant medication that contains amphetamine, used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy.

Lohan has been at the Betty Ford Clinic for her court-ordered rehab, but has seen a drop in energy following being taken off the drug, which acts as a stimulant.

"She has been exercising, but she just doesn't have a lot of energy because she is no longer taking Adderall, which is a psychostimulant medication that contains amphetamine," the source said.

The source, speaking to Radar Online, has said, "Lindsay has been able to eat whatever she has wanted and not gain weight for years and she attributes this to Adderall … everyone knows that the controversial drug ramps up your metabolism, and can suppress the appetite."

Lohan has previously explained that she is on the drug to treat her Attention Deficit Disorder: "I have severe ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I can't stand still. So I take Adderall (a prescription drug) for that, it calms me. I know people who take it to stay up, or girls who take it to supposedly stay slim because it kills your appetite. But I eat all the time. I just take it to stay calm. It works well for me."

Lohan will be at the Betty Ford Clinic for 90 days as part of the court order handed down following a car accident in Santa Monica, California.
